Good intentions are not good enough…ultimately we are measured by our actions. - Unknown

We started today with two laps for time and then got into the workout:

Eight stations:

  • KB Swings
  • Tuck Jumps
  • Ball Slams
  • Rest
  • Thrusters
  • Bench Dips
  • Sit-ups
  • Rest
  • One minute at each station - twice through. Get as many reps as you can each round.

Run Time Round 1 Round 2
    John 3:35 128 137
    Butch 2:57 120 130
    Wil 2:36 132 150

Everyone beat their first round numbers in the second round - awesome guys.
In the very last round, Butch destroyed our longest lived slam ball that we thought was going to make it forever. It’s nice to see that kind of intensity going into the end. Nice job Butch! We’ve been on quite a tear through slam balls lately.

We finished up with some med. ball sit-ups.

First Time with Cards for the Evening Class

Do or do not. There is no try. - Yoda

Split into two teams (girls vs. guys). First team through their deck wins.

  • Hearts = Dips
  • Clubs = Ball Slams
  • Spades = Sit-ups
  • Diamonds = KB Swings

Face cards are 10 reps, Aces are 11. Anyone who pulls a joker does 10 reps of all 4 exercises and their team runs a lap.
Girls win!

We finished with some pushup ladders. One person does one rep then their partner does one. Add one rep each time until one person doesn’t hit their reps or you both get to ten. Then start back at one.

Up and Down the Ladder

The first and most important step toward success is the feeling that we can succeed. - Nelson Boswell

For Time:

2 Pull-ups
15 Swings
20 Thrusters

Add 2 pull-ups each round until you hit 10 and subtract 4 thrusters until you reach 4 (Swings stay at 15). Once you hit those numbers in the fifth round, you go back the way you came: subtract 2 pull-ups each round and add 4 thrusters (until you get back to the beginning). 9 rounds total.

Post times to comments.

Butch 27:52
Jamie 28:25
John 28:30
Lee Ann 29:50
Paul 26:00
Pete K. 25:12

Some highlights:
Butch and Pete really dialed in on their kip.
Lee Ann made huge improvements in her KB swing.
Paul, Jamie, and John had great power in their thrusters.
Kudos to Jamie and Lee Ann on their first day of pull-up work.
