Today was the first day of our visit to Jerry Hill’s CrossFit Old Town in Alexandria VA. No WOD today, instead Jerry set it up as an open gym where the folks on his team could work on whatever they chose. The choices people made ranged from skill practice to heavy Oly lifts to some of CrossFit’s more challenging workouts.

We warmed up with Turkish Getups at 20% BW. From there we practiced Muscle-Ups. Eric got his first muscle-up today, and then blasted right off, hitting 3 in a row less than 5 minutes later! Way to go Eric! My first muscle-up is just around the corner; I can feel it. Check out the comments for a link to the vid of Eric’s Muscle-up!

Next we hit “Karen” - 150 Wall Ball Shots for time. I finished in 8:34, while Eric continued his streak and got the fastest time of everyone for the day at 6:33.

We moved on to a pullup ladder and finished off the morning with handstands / handstand pushups.

It was great seeing Jerry again and we learned a lot in the short time we were there today - can’t wait to see what he has in store for tomorrow! Pics will be posted when we get back.
