12 Days of Xmas

The morning crew took on an ambitious workout this morning, making the most of the last WOD before our holiday break. We modified a workout from CrossFit Old Town

“The 12 Days of Christmas”

1. Broad Jump (across room)
2. Bear Crawls (across room)
3. Push Press
4. Clean and Jerk
5. Decline Pushups
6. Knees-to-Elbows
7. Kettlebell Swings
8. Hanging Leg Raises
9. Ring Dips
10. Burpees
11. Pullups
12. Double Unders

Do it like the song… as you move on to another ‘day’ you still must complete all of the preceding ‘days’ with it.

Kudos to John to pushing hard for over an hour to get as much holiday spirit as he possibly could!

Best wishes for a safe and happy holiday from our family at CFSP to yours!

Not so fast…

Everyone thought they had escaped…but they hadn’t. This was the REAL end to the burpee Burpee challenge. Of course, we had to give George, who was still in the challenge until the end, a chance to check his improvement. And beyond that, we weren’t letting everybody off the hook that easily. Even those who had dropped out of the challenge early saw some amazing improvement. However, John still beat everyone and now holds the record for CFSP.

WOD: 100 burpees for time

name time original time
George 11:04 79 burpees in 20 min.
Kim 12:30 15:04
Jim 12:59 20:56
Chris 10:45 N/A

Afterwards, Chris drew a card from the Hopper Deck to find what everyone would do next. He drew “Nancy”: 5 rounds for time of 15 Overhead Squats and 400m run. It was cold and raining so we substituted 100 rope jumps for the run. Check out the pics.

The Burpee challenge comes to a close

After 100 days of burpees, John completed the Burpee Challenge today. Thus ends the burpee challenge (or does it?). Check out the video of him shattering his old time and raising money for charity (it’s not too late to pledge). Awesome John. I know you already miss the challenge (I think you have a burpee addiction) but our next challenge in January will be something new to shoot for.

Of course the burpees were just a warmup for John so he went on to do 10 rounds of 5 ring dips and 5 pullups
