CF Games Sectionals 3/13/2010
The Sectional Qualifiers for the 2010 CrossFit Games will be held on March 13, 2010 in Bridgeport PA.
Several of y’all have expressed interested in competing so make sure you register soon to reserve your spot!
The cost to register is $50 and it includes a free spectator - make sure you check ‘yes’ when asked if you’ll be bringing a spectator, whether or not you plan to - if you don’t bring along a friend or loved one, I’m sure someone from CFSP would love to watch and cheer you on!

Sorry I’ve been out of touch on this(and even sorrier that I’m not in the gym ) If anyone would like to put together a practice schedule (which would include a bunch of 2-a-days) let me know, if we can make the same WODs it will help us motivate each other. I plan to be back in the fight in January, and I will be at Sectionals (hopefully to compete, but at least to be a loud cheering section)
In the mean time, Happy New Year! Let’s get some in 2010!
I think we should try to get everyone who is interested to meet up sometime soon (with calendar in hand) to figure out the days that are generally best for all of us. Then we can at least organize our two-a-days and figure out how many additional days we’ll all need to hit as well. Maybe a Saturday in the next week or two after Open Gym?
I think Sat 1/2 is out for most - I’m sure y’all will still be drunk from all of the Mummers revelry. I suggest you plan on Sat 1/9 at 10AM. You can hit a WOD and then get your schedules in order.
And you darn well better be in for at least 3 WODs during that week or your team captain Topper will be mad!
Saturday 1/9 12:00 meeting for all those looking to compete in Sectionals, let’s see what we can come up with schedule-wise.
I’m there! Bring on the constant state of soreness!
I’m in, after my lengthy hiatus. Time to get serious, eh?
If there is anyone who doesn’t want to compete in sectionals but would like to try out for our team that will be competing in the Affiliate Cup regionals (May 2010) you should start training with the sectional crew too! I’ll be posting details about the affiliate cup soon.
Thanks for that invitation, Wil. In absence of having a strong set of unassisted pullups, I don’t make an appropriate addition to a competition team. However, participating in the actual training might help me GET to unassisted pullups!
I will also be starting again this week full force… Is there any way that we can do the meeting at 10am on Saturday? I have previous plans at 11.
I’m flexible, how does everyone else feel?
I think it would be good to have this sync up with the open gym time. Would work better for my schedule.
I will be at the open gym at 10 and stay until 12 pm.
2 hours should be enough time to use up all the film in my 5 cameras.
I’ll be there the whole time too, you’re right Rob, that should be plenty of time.
I expect to see some board shorts dammit!
Just so we are clear, there WILL! be Affiliate Cup Team Uniform
As y’all begin to up the intensity of your training, here’s an interesting article for you to read:

Thoughts?
I vote for gold leotards with sparkly purple face paint. And Ill be there from 10 til 12
I will be there. my vote is for unitards.
I was just thinking board shorts and chain wallets. I guess we’ll have to take a vote as we get closer.
Not necessary - I think everyone is on board with Bill’s vote.
We could definitely add something to my uniform to help with its machismo ( perhaps a viking helmet)
I’d say that sparkly catsuit that Jennifer Lopez wore for New Year’s Eve.
If y’all spend as much time training as you do planning uniforms, you’re sure to qualify!
Apologies if this has been posted, but the Journal has film of all of the events of the 2009 Games. I watched a few last night and they are pretty awesome and inspirational. The Affiliate Cup events are really interesting.

Monday is the 1st day for registration. It looks like we only need one person to sign up. Then we can add the names of the people who are on the team later (sometime in April is going to be the cuttoff for roster changes).
I just signed up to volunteer for Sectionals.
