The On Ramp was designed to give everyone a solid introduction to CrossFit and prepare potential members for CrossFit training at CrossFit South Philly. We have found that learning and working out with a small group of people is the best way to achieve this. The On Ramp is a series of 6 classes limited to 4-8 participants that introduce the basics of CrossFit and allow participants to join a CrossFit workout safety and productively. These classes consist of brief discussion followed by skill work and a workout. They allow us to find exercise scalings for each individual’s ability and introduce participants to the full range of CrossFit programming in a way that no single class could.
All sessions are required to graduate. Please read more about missing sessions hereWhile it is our preference that you attend all On-Ramp sessions, up to two missed sessions can be made up (if you have to miss more please see the Fast Track program below instead). Missed sessions must be made up with personal training (at $40 a session scheduled before the start of the On Ramp and $50 a session following the start of the On Ramp)

While it’s our preference that people experience their introduction to CrossFit with a group in the On Ramp, we understand that some people’s schedule will not allow this. The alternative is the Fast Track, which consists of four personal training sessions at $200 ($50 per session). The sessions must be completed within 2 weeks. Please contact us to schedule or with questions.
Those with CrossFit experience or having significant familiarity with the form of CrossFit movements can ask for an assessment. You will be assessed on the following movements: Air Squat, Front Squat, Overhead Squat, Press, Push Press, Push Jerk, Split Jerk, Deadlift, Sumo Deadlift High Pull, Clean, Snatch, and Kipping Pullup. A trainer will decide if you have a solid enough foundation to skip the On Ramp and may work with you on things he or she feels may need a little work. Assessments can take anywhere from 10 min (If the form is very good or significantly lacking) to 45 min (if there are a some holes to work on in an otherwise good foundation).
